Hatasu Temple No. 1 Daughters of the Nile held a Zoom Session at 7:00 P.M. on Monday May 9, 2022, with 31
members present.
Angela Heydlauff, Queen welcomed and thanked everyone for attending the Zoom Session.
Minutes of the April 11, 2022, Session was read by Kathy Ramich, P.Q., Pr. Recorder and approved as read.
Communications: Two letters from Supreme regarding expulsion of two ladies were read. A letter from Supreme
requesting our Temple to bring our Temple Banner to Supreme Session was read. Notice of a Blood Drive was read.
Ilrerim Temple No 15 Invitation to their 100th Anniversary Celebration was read. Daughters of the Nile Supreme
Session t-shirt order form was read.

Committee Reports: Mary Ann Confar, P.Q. reported that Pr. Josephine Andrews is making tops for The Shrine
Hospitals. She has fabrics, thread, and batting. Pr. Kim Newman reported on the April 13th Nile Shrine 150th
Celebration. Pr. Katie Harrington, Pr. Badoura reported on the Budget Committee Meeting. Pr. Barbara Grobler, Pr.
Royal reported on the flower basket Fundraiser. There were 26 orders with a profit of $479.27. Kathy Ramich, P.Q.,
Pr. Recorder reported on the new computer and thanked the membership for their support. Pr. Katie Harrington,
Pr. Badoura reported on the Everett Storage Unit and removal of the old file cabinet. The storage unit is now
closed out. Kathy Ramich, P.Q., Pr. Recorder will send a thank you for the many years of usage. Pr. Kim Newman
reported on the First Lady’s Luncheon. There were 55 ladies who attended the May 1st luncheon. Pr. Corie Moran
reported on the May 6th Badoura Club #3 luncheon for Queen Angela.
Unfinished Business: Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Tirzah reported on the golf tournament. There are several signed up for
golfing and for the banquet, but we would like several more. There will be raffles, a Shriner’s Patient & parent will
be guest speakers at the banquet. Queen Angela will have a picture taken with individuals. Raffle items and

Moran reported that May 29th at 2 P.M. will be a Tea at The Morning Star hosted by NW Evening. Tickets are $20.
The Supreme Queen’s Visit and banquet will be Wednesday, August 24, 2022. Dinner is at 5:00 P.M. and the
Ceremonial is at 7:00 P.M. Cost of the dinner TBA.
New Business: Kathy Ramich, P.Q., Pr. Recorder casted an elective ballot for Pr. Kathy Huggins to be a Supreme
Delegate at Supreme Session 2022. Pr. Kathy Huggins accepted. Pr. Katie Harrington, Pr. Badoura moved to have
our Temple Banner Brought to Supreme Session. It was seconded and passed. Kathy Ramich, P.Q., Pr. Recodrer
suggested that Liz Day, P.Q. be asked to escort it. Queen Angela will ask Liz Day, P.Q..
PROPOSED BUDGET 2022-2023 report was given by Barbara Lampi. P.Q., she screen shared each item. She
entertained the portion 2021B-J be added to the spread sheet. Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Tirzah moved to add line items
2021 b-j to the expense portion of the proposed budget 2022-2023. It was seconded and passed. Barbara Lampi,
P.Q. moved to accept the proposed budget 2022-2023. It was seconded and passed. Kathy Rafter, P.Q. stated that
Zarah Temple No. 72 will be hosting the Supreme Session in the future and asked for the assistance of Hatasu
Temple. Vivian Gould, P.Q. moved to have Hatasu Temple assist Zarah Temple No. 72 with a Supreme Session. It
was seconded and passed.
Vivian Gould, P.Q. moved to eliminate two sentences in article VI of the Hatasu Temple Bylaws containing $4,000
be eliminated. It was seconded and passed. It was suggested she ask the Bylaws committee help with the wording.
Muriel V. Knapp, P.S.Q. read the list of the sixteen proposed Legislations for Supreme Session 2022.
Good of the Order: May 10th, 2022, is Pr. Dani Haslan’s Celebration of Life. Queen Angela listed the practices and
activities for the summer. The Chaplain’s Report was given. Beth Eng, P.Q. reported that she was given a check in
the amount of $841 by Pr. Judy Furher’s daughter for fabric. There will be a quilting party in August.
Muriel V. Knapp, P.S.Q. wished everyone a lovely summer and hopes to see the members at Supreme Session
2022.

Communications: A letter from Supreme Jurisprudence regarding Zoom meetings was read. Two letters from
Supreme Queen Donna Kramer were read regarding the suspension and expulsion of two members from Daughters
of the Nile. First Ladies Luncheon will be May 1, 2022, at Nile Shrine Center. Call the Nile Office for reservations.

Unfinished Business: Annual Bankers Report was given; Annual Recorder’s Report was given. Hatasu Temple
membership has stayed the same with 315 members. We had to drop four members for nonpayment of dues, we
lost thirteen members who passed this year and we initiated fourteen new members. Pr. Jo Ann Shaw gave the
Shut-in report for the year. Mary Ann Confar, P.Q. gave the Hospital Request report for the year end. The Budget
Meeting will be held at Pr. Sandra Albertson’s house on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Tirzah, reported
on the Golf Tournament to be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, at The Nile Shrine Golf and Country Club. Spring
Basket pick up date is April 27, 2022. Merrilyn Alkire, P.Q. reported on the April 3, 2022, Installation of Officers and
the Mardi Gras Party held on March 19, 2022, at the Skagit Golf and Country Club.

Pr. Sandra Albertson announced the Tea and Jewelry Party hosted by NW Evening on May 29, 2022, The Tea with be

Pr. Tirzah moved to purchase a new computer for the Pr. Recorder. The current computer is eight years old and has
recently crashed. It was seconded by Pr. Katie Harrington, Pr. Badoura. After discussion the motion passed. The new
computer will be purchased from Best Buy.
Queen Angela announced that the Teddy Greenwald account will be used for Pre-session dinners. The Alice E.
Morris account fund will be used for the sip and paint parties.
Good of the Order: Barbara Lampi, P.Q. reported on the L.O.S. Grand Council Opening Ceremony to be held On
May 17, 2022, at The Hyatt South Point Hotel.
Muriel V. Knapp, P.S.Q. gave her remarks. She congratulated the officers on a job well done and congratulated
Queen Angela on a successful first Session.

March 14, 2022
Hatasu Temple No. 1 Daughters of the Nile held a Stated Session at 7:00 P.M. on Monday March 14,
2022 with 46 members present.
Queen Brenda was escorted in by Pr. Marshal, Pr. Corie Moran and two Attendants, Pr. Cathy Dent and
Pr. Candy Starwoski while wearing the original Hatasu Queen’s Robe. Queen Brenda was escorted to the
alter where the original robe was retired. The new Queen’s robe was then presented to Queen Brenda.
The two Attendants assisted Queen Brenda with the Queen’s Robe and Pr. Marshal escorted her to the
Throne. Queen Brenda thanked Pr. Eleanor Francis and Ben Lincoln for their outstanding job on the
creation of the new Queen’s robe! It is truly a work of art that will be admired for many decades to
come!

Several Temple Installation Invitations were read. A Thank you letter from Pr. Dollie Mae Gehring was read and a letter from Pr. Judy Fuhrer’s daughter was read, which informed Hatasu Temple No.1 of a generous donation from the sale of Pr. Judy’s sewing machine of $3,100.00 that will be deposited into the Kathyrn Jones’s sewing account for the future purchase of material to make quilts for the Shrine Hospitals. An announcement was made that Pr. Kim Newman has been appointed to serve on the Website Committee for the Supreme Temple for the 2021 year.

Pr. Shelley Lampi gave the final report on the 50/50 Raffle. The gross income was $525.00. Pr. Shelley Lampi was winner of the 50/50 Raffle. The winning amount $262.50. Hatasu Temple General Fund will receive $196.88 and Daughters of the Nile Foundation CEF will receive $65.62 from this fundraiser. Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Badoura gave the final report on the Beef Raffle. The gross income was $2,370.00. Matthew Haller was the winner of this raffle. Donations to Daughters of the Nile Foundation 25% of sale goes to CEF in the amount of $592.50. Total profit to Hatasu Temple General Fund is $1,777.50.

Mary Ann Confar, PQ reported on Hospital requests. The hospitals are asking for donations of school supplies and gift cards. She also reported on Publicity and asked members to let her know if they had news of upcoming events for Hatasu Temple No. 1 to please let her know so she can publish the information in the Smile with Nile Newsletter. Pr. Jo Ann Shaw reported on Shut-ins. She has sent 20 Holiday cards out in the mail to these members. Barbara Grobler, Pr. Tirzah reported that another 10 members have paid dues for this year. Pr. Barbara reported on a Reinstate, Restore and Re-affiliate “lost princesses” and try to bring them back to our Hatasu Temple. Pr. Barbara introduced her counterpart from Zarah Temple No. 72 Vancouver, BC, Pr. Lynn Radbourne, Pr. Tirzah. Pr. Sara Clarke reported on The Happy Gram fundraiser. The last date to order these is December 31, 2021. Pr. Angela Heydlauff, Pr. Royal reported on the Holiday Evergreens fundraiser. The profit to the Hatasu Temple general fund is $1,1116.00. Mary Ann Confar, PQ reported on the Port Gamble Craft Fair. The profit to the general fund is $500.00.  She thanked Pr. Ellen Jones and Liz Day, PQ for volunteering at this event. Merrilyn Alkire, PQ explained the Holiday Giving Tree Program. The members donated to this fund by pinning their donations to a Christmas tree. The total amount collected for the Daughters of the Nile Foundation Holiday Sharing is $821.00. Pr. Corie Moran Reported on the Queen’s Holiday Party at The Spaghetti Factory in Lynnwood, WA on Saturday December 4, 2021. There were 38 people in attendance Queen Brenda thanked the membership for her beautiful gift which is a purple amethyst ring. Merrilyn Alkire, PQ gave the final report on the Sparkle Dress sale. The total net profit was $677.15. The profit will be divided 50/50; $338.58 to Daughters of the Foundation and $338.58 to Hatasu Temple general fund.

Unfinished Business:

Pr. Shelley Lampi and Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Badoura reported on the 50/50 raffle and side of beef raffle. The deadline for ticket sales is February 12, 2022. The drawing will be held on February 14, 2022. Pr. Lynn Haller also reported on Hatasu Temple website. Mary Ann, PQ gave a report on the new Queen’s Robe being designed by Eleanor Francis. Pr. Lynn Haller thanked Pr. Jo Ann Shaw for repairing the Temple Memorial Robes.

New Business:

Pr. Darla Sluder explained about The Unsung Hero Award and asked members to please submit their vote for this ward. The winner will be announced at the March 2022 session. Vivian Gould, PQ read the Bylaw change to the Pageantry Bylaws to change their meeting time from 7:00 P.M. to now read 5:30 P.M. Pr. Angela Heydlauff, Pr. Royal announced the change of date and venue for the Queen’s party. The new date is February 20, 2022 at The Nile Shrine Center in the Gold Room at 11:30 A.M. Barbara Lampi, PQ announced the “Good Time” that will at the Skagit Golf and Country Club in Mount Vernon, WA on March 19, 2022. This will be 50’s Theme Party!

Queen Brenda honored all Ladies of the Household and presented each member with a beautiful handmade Holiday ornament and “goodie bag!” She thanked all the members for their love, support and dedication to Daughters of the Nile.

A letter from Daughters of the Nile foundation announcing the annual Holiday Sharing donations to support the Hospitals. All donations must be received by December 15, 2021. A letter announcing the Homecoming of Supreme Queen Donna Kramer, Al Amira Temple No. 157, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

February 24 to 27, 2022. Supreme Queen’s Official Visit, Zarah Temple No. 72, Vancouver, BC, Canada is rescheduled for February 7, 2022.

Barbara Grobler, Pr. Tirzah reported that there were still 39 members who still owe dues for this year. Linda Burton, PQ announced that the deadline for newsletter articles is December 1, 2021. The next newsletter is scheduled to come out on December 13, 2021. Beth Eng, PQ gave the final report on the Fabric Sale. The final profit is: $1,898.00. Pr. Karen Watson and Pr. Dollie Mae Gehring reported on the concession stand at the Nile Haunted House. The total profit was: $5,042.00! It was moved, seconded and passed to give $100.00 to the Director’s Staff for the rental of the concession stand at the Haunted House. Barbara Lampi, PQ gave the report on the online auction. Angela Heydlauff, Pr. Royal announced that the Holiday Evergreens delivery date will be December 4, 2021. Pr. Darla Sluder announced the Nilette’s fundraiser. All orders are due on or before November 15, 2021.

Clubs and Units:

Badoura Club No. 3: Bake Sale at the November 8, 2021 session. Ibis Club No. 13 will have their Zoom Holiday meeting Queen’s Official Visit and on December 1, 2021. The pageantry Meeting is Monday, November 15, 2021, at 5:30 P.M. at Nile Shrine Center.

Unfinished Business:

Pr. Shelley Lampi reported on the 50/50 Raffle and Lynn Haller, Pr. Badoura reported on the Beef Raffle. The drawing will be held on February 14, 2022. Barbara Lampi, PQ gave a report on the Supreme Temple Action Team Committee.  Corie Moran, Pr. Marshal announced that the Queen’s Holiday Party will be on December 4, 2021, at 11:30 A.M. at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Lynnwood, WA. It was moved, seconded, and passed to use a portion of the Teddy Greenwald Fund for the cost of this event. It was moved, seconded and passed for a $900.00 deposit to be issued to Eleanor Francis in order to begin the construction of a new Queen’s Robe. Pr. Sara Clarke gave a report on the Guard’s Uniforms and the Choir Robes that had previously been stored at Joan Breda JPQ’s home. Pr. Lynn Haller, Pr. Badoura reported on the Hatasu Temple No. 1 website. The website is waiting for the final approval from Supreme and should be up and running soon! 

New Business: Pr. Ellen Jones reported on the Port Gamble Holiday Bazaar on December 11, 2021, Mary Ann Confar is the Chairman. It was moved, seconded and passed to have the memorial robes given to Pr. Jo Ann Shaw for repair.

Founder’s Day: Proclamation was read by Queen Brenda. Carol Zahler, PQ read about the history of Daughters of the Nile. Queen Brenda honored the Past Queens and 50-year members. Queen Brenda presented members with their Legacy Certificates.

Badoura Club No. 3: They had their meeting at Mexican Restaurant  on Friday, October 1, 2021. There will not be a Fall Bazaar at Garden Court. A Bake Sale will be held at the November 8, 2021 Session. A Fall Bazaar will be held at Fairway Estates, October 29th-30th, 2021.

Ibis Club No. 13: Junk in the Trunk Sale. Donated $145.00 to Daughters of the Nile Foundation.

Pageantry Unit: Sparkle Dress Sale-Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Nile Shrine Center. Grossed over $1,000. Dresses will be on sale at Sessions throughout the year! The next Pageantry Meeting will be November 15, 2021 at 5:30 PM at Nile Shrine Center.

Nilettes Unit: Fundraiser Crossroads and Cooper Mills-Online Sale-Contact Pr. Darla Sluder.

Unfinished Business: Pr. Karen Watson reported on the concession stand at Nile Haunted House. Barbara Lampi, PQ, reported on the Online Auction to be held November 4-7, 2021. It will close at 5:00pm on November 7th. Angela Heydlauff, Pr. Royal, reported on the Evergreen Wreath Sale…sold over $1100.00, so far! Pr. Corie Moran announced the Officer Notebooks are available for each officer to check out. She thanked the line officers for all their work on updating and organizing these binders. Pr. Corie Moran announced that the Holiday Party will be on December 4, 2021 at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Tukwila. The cost is $30.00. Please call her for reservations. Mary Ann Confar, PQ, reported on the update for creating the new Queen’s Robe. There are two bidders so far. The new date for the Golf Tournament will be May 23, 2022. A motion was passed to pay the Gold Tournament catering deposit of $500.00 in January 2022. Lynn Haller, Pr. Badoura, reported on the Hatasu Temple No. 1 website. It should ready by the middle of November!

New Business: Beth Eng, PQ, presented an 1800 Norwegian spinning wheel and made a motion that it be added to the Hatasu Temple No. 1 paraphernalia. The motion was passed.

Queen Brenda appointed a committee to review the Guards Uniforms and present the information back to the membership at the November Session.

The File Cabinet at the Everett Storage Unit will be emptied and information for its disposal will be brought back to the membership at the November Session.

Chaplain’s Report – a memorial service will be held for Pr. Daisy Beach on October 27th at 3:00 PM at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Edmonds.

Hatasu Temple No. 1 Daughters of the Nile held a Zoom Stated Session at 7:00 PM on Monday, September 13, 2021, with 38 members present.

Brenda Elliott, Queen welcomed and thanked everyone for joining the Zoom Session.

Minutes of the May 10, 2021 Zoom Session were read by Pr. Recorder, Kathy Ramich, PQ, and approved as read. Minutes of the Special Zoom Session on June 1, 2021, were read by Pr. Recorder Kathy Ramich, PQ, and approved as read. Minutes of the Special Zoom Session on June 9, 2021, were read by Pr. Recorder Kathy Ramich, PQ, and approved as corrected. Minutes of the Special Zoom Session on June 24, 2021, were read by Pr. Recorder Kathy Ramich, PQ, and approved as corrected. Minutes of the July 10, 2021, Supreme Queen’s Official Visit and Ceremonial were read by Pr. Recorder Kathy Ramich, PQ, and approved as corrected.

Communications:  A letter from Donna Kramer, Supreme Queen was read.  She thanked us for the love and courtesies extended to her during her visit to our Temple. She also thanked us for all the donations that were presented to her. A letter from the Shriners Hospitals for Children® – Portland was read thanking Hatasu Temple for all the generous gifts of beautiful handmade quilts, pillowcases and shorts received on 7/12/2021.

Voting was favorable to extend Life membership for two 50 year members, Pr. Doris Hunter and Pr. Janis Radke.

Voting was favorable to change Standing Rule number 11. (New copy of revised Standing Rules is included)

Discussion to have a new Queen’s Robe. Queen Brenda appointed a committee to gather information. The committee will get at least three bids from costume designers/seamstresses and report back to the membership at the next stated session. Haunted House volunteers are needed for a Hatasu Temple concession stand. A Golf Tournament is being organized to be held in May 2022. Queen Brenda tabled the discussion on when the date of the Golf tournament was to be held. The Golf Tournament Committee will research available dates and present this information to the members at the next Stated Session in October. Hatasu Temple website is going to be designed and available soon. The Hatasu online auction will be held the first week in November 2021. Please contact Barbara Lampi, PQ.

Unfinished Business:  Corie Moran, Pr. Marshal announced that Officer Binders will be distributed at the first practice when we can all meet in person again.  She announced the Holiday Party.
